Conductor: Iwan Davies

Director: John Savournin

Revival Director: Bence Kalo

A Scottish Opera production in collaboration with Opera Holland Park and D’Oyly Carte Opera, featuring the Buxton International Festival Orchestra

Feisty, fabulous and irresistibly charming, Hanna Glawari is a widow with wealth, wit and a flair for mischief. Her fortune makes her the target of suitors and of Don Zeta, who recruits the reluctant Danilo to make sure it stays out of the wrong hands. But Hanna and Danilo have a complicated history, and sparks fly as love and strategy collide.

Lehár’s waltzing score is full of elegance, humour and charm, sweeping audiences into a world of romance, mischief and glittering society. It’s an operetta where hearts and fortunes are on the line – and cleverness, as much as love, rules the day.

Sung in English with English surtitles.
