Join us for an evening of jazz on 20 June 2024 as Sir Richard FitzHerbert invites you to experience the picturesque setting of 17th century Tissington Hall in Derbyshire. Ahead of performing at the BIF Jazz series this summer at Buxton International Festival, the talented Emily Brown Trio bring us a power-packed 90 minutes of modern jazz, along with drinks and canapés.
Expect the unexpected: For few singers are less interested in taking a musical journey in a straight line than Emily Brown. Jazz may be rocked, folk may be funked & ballads may be taken deeper than a diving bell. Though the route can be unpredictable, the destination is always certain: pure entertainment.
BIF Jazz Director Neil Hughes was bowled over when he saw this trio at Severn Arts in Leeds recently.
Emily is a talented Yorkshire based jazz singer and made a big name for herself on the Northern jazz scene. She thrills with her unbelievable voice, stagecraft, delightful persona and rare instinct of knowing just when to ‘let the dogs’ loose, resulting in unbelievably rich and rounded ‘jazz’. See what ‘democracy in jazz’ sounds and looks like!
Emily Brown – Vocals.

The Emily Brown Trio will be performing at the BIF Jazz Weekend on Friday 5 July at 10.30pm.
