COUNTRY MATTERS – A RUSTIC AND PASTORAL ENTERTAINMENT

An entertainment featuring the landscape and people of the English Countryside. With words by, and spoken by, the Derbyshire poet Philip Holland and music by Quilter, Warlock, Faurè and Debussy played by Wyn Davies and sung by soprano Jane Burnell.

Jane has a strong connection with Buxton International Festival.  She was a 2023 Young Artist at BIF.  In 2024 she sang the title role in La canterina and in 2025 she will be singing the role of Madame Silberklang in Mozart’s The Impressario.

The event starts with welcome drinks at 2pm, the recital at 2.30pm and then afternoon tea from 3.30pm.
