Buxton International Festival 2025

BIF is delighted to announce initial plans for 2025.  The festival will be held between 10 and 27 July 2025.

Highlights include:

  • Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet, conducted by Adrian Kelly with the Orchestra of Opera North
  • A double bill of Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Taihiti and Francis Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine, a Buxton International Festival and Norwich Theatre production
  • Opera Zuid production of Mozart’s The Impresario
  • La Descente d’Orphée aux Enfers, a Vache Baroque production
  • ShortsFour new and punchy 20-minute operas by composers Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, Jasper Dommett, Martin Green and Carmel Smickersgill

Commenting, Adrian Kelly,  Buxton’s artistic director said: “With the festival’s popularity on the climb, we are very excited to announce our plans for 2025 which build on the our commitments and ambitions for the future, with artistic quality at the heart of all we do.”

 

Festival timeline

  • Public booking is now open for the Jazz Weekender Package.
  • 18 March 2025: Priority booking for the full programme opens on a staggered basis for BIF Friends.
  • 15 April 2025 Public booking and Next Gen booking opens for the full programme.

Under 35 year olds can join the Friends for free, through the Next Gen scheme, and get access to £10 tickets to the operas, musical, and music events and £5 tickets to BIF’s book events.  Click here for more information.

 

Group bookings: 10% discount on ticket prices for groups of 10+

We welcome groups of all types to Buxton International Festival and provide a group booking service for parties of 10+ along with 10% discount on ticket prices.

A group discount is available for any groups of 10+ to any events across our programme of opera, music, jazz and books. We can work with you to find you the best festival itinerary for your party.
