Love, Life and Sisterhood

‘She was the sun of my life … the soother of every sorrow’ Cassandra Austen

Jane Austen’s perceptive storytelling makes us feel we know her. She was Elizabeth Bennet, Emma Woodhouse, and Elinor Dashwood. Sisterhood was central to her life and novels.

This recital brings Jane’s letters to her sister Cassandra to life, underscored by Jonathan Dove’s The Beautiful Cassandra, alongside the music she loved by Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert.
