Become part of a creative process, gain insights into the workings of our Artistic Directors and sing alongside professionals.  This exciting workshop is a chance to join in the making of Bizet’s Carmen, led by the Festival’s Artistic Director, Adrian Kelly, and Iwan Davies, conductor of La tragédie de Carmen. A director will guide participants through the themes in the piece. Amateur singers are invited to sing the choruses alongside the Buxton Festival Company, who take on the four protagonist roles from the opera.

An abridged version of the opera will then be performed at the end of the afternoon. The event starts with an informal cup of tea at 2.30pm and concludes with a performance. You are welcome to join as a participant from the start or as an audience member from 5pm.
