This year, the centenary of his death, Buxton Musical Society will perform Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, a sacred work composed in his early twenties but already showing some of the promise that was to come. They are also marking the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Swiss composer Frank Martin with a short orchestral piece. The Orchestra of Buxton Musical Society will be augmented with instrumentalists for the Festival Young Artists programme and soloists from the Buxton Festival company. The concert will be conducted by Sam Hayes.

This concert also gives you the chance to BE part of BIF! Experienced singers are invited to apply for a place in the chorus for the Puccini performance. Click here for full details, including the cost of taking part, and an application form.

If you would like to take part, please be aware there will be compulsory rehearsals on Thursday 18 July from 7.30pm until 9.30pm and Friday 19 July from 5.15pm until 7.15pm.
