Legacies

Leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Who are the Festival Foundation and what do they do?

The Festival Foundation was established as a separate charitable trust in 2002 to contribute to the long-term stability and development of the Festival.

The Festival Foundation has a Development Fund and is able to make grants to the Festival to facilitate improving the range diversity and quality of its opera productions, outreach projects and young artists’ programme.

Leaving to the Festival Foundation in your Will

Remembering a charity in your Will is straightforward and leaving something to the Festival, no matter how small, will really make a difference.

Legacies can be made by way of a gift of cash, shares or property, and charitable gifts are free from Inheritance Tax and may also reduce other taxes. If you want to leave a legacy, simply tell your solicitor the amount you wish to give to the Buxton Festival Foundation, registered charity number 1096269

What your gift supports

Your gift will help grow an endowment fund used by the Festival to support the development of a range of programmes, production and outreach projects.

In 2019 the Festival Foundation was delighted to support the outreach project The Orphans of Koombu, an innovative mini-opera designed to put young voices at the front of the performance, bringing together schools in Derbyshire with performances at the Buxton Opera House.
