Through a series of creative workshops, Year 5 pupils from Harpur Hill Primary School, St Peter’s Primary School, and Burbage Primary School will create their own melodies, lyrics, and stories, exploring how music and words can work together to tell a compelling narrative. These ideas will form the foundation of a brand-new composition by composer Sam Kane, who will weave the pupils’ musical and storytelling contributions into an exciting work for an orchestra of 15 musicians and a choir of 140 young voices.
The performance will be brought to life by broadcaster Keelan Carew, who will narrate the story throughout the concert. The programme will also feature a selection of carefully chosen music that reflects and complements the themes and imagination of the pupils’ storytelling, creating a vibrant and collaborative musical experience.
