Buxton International Festival are holding auditions for the 2024 company.
All company members will sing in the chorus for Verdi’s Ernani. Some performers will combine this with principal roles in chamber productions of Haydn’s La Canterina and Ethel Smythe’s The Boatswain’s Mate, or covers in Ernani and La tragedie de Carmen. There will be a cover performance of a short version of Carmen with community chorus, as well as various other performance opportunities during the Festival.
Contract dates: 27 May – 21 July 2024 (plus option to transfer)
Full production rehearsals will take place in London from May 27 – 23 June 2024.
Technical rehearsals shall be in Buxton between 24 June – 4 July.
Festival performances will be in the Buxton Opera House between 5 – 21 July 2024 with a transfer for those cast in the La tragedie de Carmen w/c 22 July 2024.
Fee plus Expenses as follows:
Accommodation allowance in Buxton (and any transfer dates) only, we do not cover accommodation in London; return travel to/from Buxton.

We regretfully cannot offer feedback after auditions as we are a small team with limited capacity.
The deadline for applications is Friday September 8th by 5pm.
Auditions will take place w/c 16th October in London.
