Community

Platform 3

Buxton International Festival has a long tradition of working with the community to develop young talent, and to encourage participation in the performing arts.

Platform 3 is the new Learning and Engagement initiative managed by Buxton International Festival and Buxton Opera House. Platform 3 provides exciting new opportunities for young people, schools and communities to participate in performing arts activities and projects across Buxton, the High Peak and the wider area.

Kaleidoscope Choir

If you love to sing then come and join our friendly Kaleidoscope Choir delivered in partnership with Buxton Opera House.

From choral classics and favourite hymns to pop and folk, you don’t have to audition to be part of the choir. Just come along and join us for an hour of singing led by Carol Bowns in the Pavilion Arts Centre each Tuesday from 1pm.

The choir holds a number of public performances each year including Buxton Festival Fringe, Buxton International Festival Friends Events, Christmas concerts and other community events. This year’s Christmas concert will be on Tuesday 14 December, click here to book your tickets.

Each session costs £4. You can find all the application details on the Buxton Opera House website.
